Students need to secure their admission between July 11 and July 13 after which they will get an opportunity to rectify their forms for mistakes and change college preferences between July 15 and July 18. The fyjc second merit list 2017 will be released on July 20. Nearly 2.36 lakh students are expected be enrolled in FYJC admission courses this year.

Mumbai.11thadmission.net students unable to confirm FYJC quota seats

Mumbai.11thadmission.net students unable to confirm FYJC quota seats

First year junior college (FYJC) admissions are held online every year. This time, students allotted seats under different quotas have still not confirm their seats due to errors in the mumbai.11thadmission.net portal. Students need to wait till July 15 for confirmation.

Around half of the seats in minority colleges are reserved for students from that community or linguistic group, while 20% are for in-house students and 5% for management students. Admissions were held at the college level via a ‘zero admission round’ to secure these seats.

Some colleges are not being able to update the admissions of several students who had applied for quota seats online as they have not filled part two of their application forms. The online application form includes part one  where students fill their personal details — and in part two of the form— they list their college preferences. As Quota students were told to fill only part one, some of them have not filled Part 2.

Now, the mumbai.11thadmission.net website do not accept incomplete forms, even if they are from quota students. BB Chavan, deputy director of education, Mumbai region, said he has asked the colleges to provide students admission ‘on paper’. After the students complete their applications, it will be officially confirmed.

There are many errors that have come into the admission process this year, despite the education department’s efforts to reduce the errors and make ure that all admissions are held fairly, though students feel their is lack of clarity over the department’s instructions.

A Woman from Mahim said, “My daughter applied for general category online under the Muslim minority quota and we approached a Bandra college with the details. The college rejected application and told us we could not secure quota admission as we had opted for admission online.”

students should be given admissions to quota if they applied for it irrespective of whether they applied online. Some students marks awarded for excelling in cultural activities or sports have still not been updated on the mumbai.11thadmission.net website.

If this continues, these students will not be able to secure seats in the mumbai.11thadmission.net first merit list, out on July 10. Pune.11thadmission.net first merit list is also coming on July 10.
